The perfect quilt for a little girl or as a gift for a baby shower, as a crib quilt or a lap quilt or even a wall hanging in a child's room.
On the quilt top I used a mixture of bright and colorful organic fabrics from Patty Young's Playdate collection depicting fish, balloons, flowers, candy and toys in pinks, reds, blues, greens and oranges. On the back I used lovely soft and fluffy fleece in hot pink.
The quilting is done in (almost) straight lines to give this quilt a clean and modern look but it hasn't been overquilted to leave the fluffy softness of the backing. The binding was done by hand in a dark red dotted fabric.
It has not been washed as I wanted to leave it to its new owner to decide the look. Washing creates a more antique wrinkled effect that I like, but others may not.
It was a joy to make this quilt and I hope it will bring you joy as well.
