A fascinating blend of transparent colors in this mixture with a vintage feeling; it includes dark green, shades of pink, light lime green, lavender, purple, clear and even a touch of deep teal. The past summer, I learned about "bead soup" which is a method of mixing beads so that they are used in random order. This particular "bead soup"--purchased as is in vintage hanks--was all ready to use in a playful mixture and was created with a specific effect in mind.
Dainty and detailed hoops reinvented with bound coils of sterling silver, my original design is reinterpreted with a joyful random collection with these small colorful old beads, each about 2 mm x 2 mm in size. Five hoops of bright sterling silver wire are bound together which creates a form like a rustic basket so that the intriguing, colorful bead collection can be seen from both sides, the top and the bottom. The beads can move some on the wire, but are pretty tightly strung onto the wires.
There will be some variety in the random bead collection for each pair of earrings but all made from this hank of old beads will have the color pallet seen here.
I began to design forms with coiled metal wire a few years ago and a number of different forms, especially more organic structures, have evolved. My handmade hoops dangle freely and are very lightweight to wear.
The lovely blend of colors will coordinate will with black and gray, but also green, purples and pinks or are fun just paired with jeans and a t-shirt....to add that touch of color.
