I start with a sketch of each bird, then cut out the little pieces from earthenware clay. After much sanding and adding little feather details, the pieces are fired in our pottery kiln. Then the real fun begins when I glaze with non-toxic glazes, trying to achieve a realistic look to represent each bird. I love opening the kiln to see how these little beauties turn out!
This flicker pendant is 4 inches tall and articulated at the head and tail. The chain is 24 inches long with an gunmetal finish and a matching lobster claw clasp. Not waterproof.
