These little post earrings involve two well-matched diamond crystal clusters. The four-pronged post earrings began as pre-fabricated findings. In order to lose that pre-fab appearance, I used my rotary tool to form and shape the prongs and base. I was working to create a unique, organic shape which I feel best-suits the formation of the crystals. As in most of my work, I strive to find unique ways of forging and texturing the metal to best compliment the forms and textures I see in the stones.
After shaping the settings, I created a microhammered finish on them. This technique involves using a miniature mechanized jackhammer-type tool, attached to a rotary tool, and leaves the tiniest little hammer marks in the metal.
The prongs were closed and then hammered around the naturally bumpy surface of the diamond crystals. After hammering the prongs closed, the earrings spent some time hardening up in my rock tumbler- this process hardens the metal, and makes the finish more durable.
The hand-done texture, combined with the unique formation of the crystals, ensures that your earrings will be absolutely unique from any other pair I make. The next pair I make will be unique, but equally as lovely.
The stones I use for these earrings are about 3.5mm across. Like all of my diamonds, these are conflict-free. The earrings come with silicone stoppers, which slip on the posts snugly and ensure that your new treasures won't fall out of your earlobes. This pair has posts that are also built for screw-on backs, should you wish to use your own.
I can also make a pair of earrings using this texture of 14k yellow gold.Shipping- please read: These ship with Air Mail Small Package, unless otherwise requested by you.
