A stunning, petal form art glass bowl, most likely made by Chalet Artistic Glass, Ltd, of Canada in the 1960s. Chalet was formed in the early 1960s, using Italian glassblowers making stemware and art glass in the Murano style. This bowl is triple cased, with a white layer of glass sandwiched between a ruby layer that is dotted with aventurine (copper flecks), and a blue bottom layer. The white shows through the blue between the petals where the glass was pulled into lug handles of a sort. The flat cut base is ground and polished.
I have photographed it both under flash and in a ray of sunlight, hoping to catch some of the fire.
Condition: Excellent - no chips, cracks or interior scratches. The base shows normal wear. There are a few very short, very light exterior scratches near the base, also from shelfwear.
Size: 8" across, 3-3/4" high. This is a very heavy bowl weight 2 lbs 14 oz.
