All my eyes and irises are hand cast by myself. They are cast in Polyester Resin, and are cast in layers.
Please allow for slight variations in each pair. Depending upon treatments, they can, and do vary in appearance.
Profiles are generally standard height in ratio of diameter (please View Chart) Some diameters/sizes do have either higher, or lower profiles. Flat Backs are solid, and not hollow. There is no corneal bulge.
If you are not 100% sure of what size you need, always order up a size. There is some reduction of total diameter size after finishing. I do offer in-between sizes like 3,5,7,9,11...etc. If you do not see an in-between size listed, please contact me directly, I may have it in stock, and if not...I can
certainly cast it for you.
If you are concerned about material compatibility and chemical reactions, I offer a few tips:
1. When painting around a cast eye/iris try a water based masking liquid.
2. The best permanent adhesive to use with my castings is E6000. It has a working time of 15-20 minutes, and the excess will easily rub off without any damage to the surface of the resin.
3. Using setting putty as for use in BJD's Should not effect the resin. If they do, you may return your damaged items to me for a replacement, along with a note of which putty product you have used.
4. If you should accidentally scratch the surface, or cloud it somehow, you can briskly buff the surface with a soft cloth, to help shine it back up. Then apply either a waterbased gloss over the surface to seal it back up again. Some nail lacquers will work, but you must use a hair dryer immediately after application to dry and prevent further clouding.
If you have any other questions, or concerns, please feel free to contact me vial email, and I will be more than happy to help solve your problem.
