Each box and the cross applique are slip cast ceramic from a mold. The cross is applied to the box and the box is cleaned to remove blemishes and fired to create a solid piece. The cross and inside of the box are coated in antique brown wood grain glaze. The exterior of the box is then coated in a clear glaze and refired.
