The mug was wheel thrown in a straight cylinder. Then, it was carved before being thrown again (with my hands on the inside only) into the finished shape. This causes the carving to flow with the contours of the mug, giving it a natural, organic feel.
The mug is glazed in our butternut gold and cobalt blue. It is food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe. It holds 18 ounces (535mL).
