The perfect way to make your dress truly your own--a personalized dress label custom made just for you. A wonderful way to fulfill that something blue, or it could be a way to incorporate other colors or themes into your gown as a personal touch. Labels are stitched on high quality satin, and are fully finished front and back.

Dress labels can be embroidered in a variety of ways. We can do them with the bride’s maiden name or monogram, the couple’s names or married monogram, nicknames, locations, or a very short phrase, along with the date if desired. This particular label includes two lines of text, the first typically being the name(s), monogram or short phrase (like Happily Ever After), and the second usually being the wedding date. There can be a third line if the names are long, or if using both the bride and grooms full names. For all other instances, like if you want to add a large initial, location, or phrase to a name/monogram and date, you’ll need a custom listing-please convo for details.

If doing a monogram, please enter the initials exactly as they will be stitched, or give specific instructions on how you want them done. If no further instructions are specified, they will be done in the order shown, with the middle initial larger.

Please note: If using two full first and last names, go ahead and enter the names in one line on your order. However, they will most likely be done on two lines due to space limitations, with no symbols between (such as "&"). If you really want them on one line, and understand that your label will be very long, then please indicate that on your order.

Please note on borders: Border options 10 thru 15 create a larger label all around, and border 5 creates a longer label. If you like those borders, but want a smaller size, consider using a monogram, and a shorter version of date (an abbreviation of month names, or a numerical date). Also consider not using a font that is italicized, as those fonts can make names/words longer.

HISTORY OF THE WEDDING DRESS LABEL:

In the 20’s and 30’s, couture gown designers starting designing personalized labels for their clients, and attaching them inside the gowns. Now brides can use this special touch to make wedding gowns truly their own. When the tradition of labels for wedding gowns started, it was seen as the last time a bride would use her maiden name. So the bride’s full maiden name and wedding date was sewn into the gown. More recently, brides began choosing to put their name and the groom’s name on the label with the wedding date. Today, anything goes—from nicknames, monograms, or symbols—whatever the bride feels has the most meaning for her.

These labels are sewn into your wedding gowns lining at the hem, or inside the top of the gown, where a typical clothing label would go. They can be sewn in any color, but are most commonly done in blue for the traditional “Something Blue.” They can even be sewn as a pocket to hold something special, like a good luck charm, or other precious item that you want to have with you on your wedding day. After the wedding, the label becomes a memento for future generations to have the name and date from the day the dress was worn. This is a special touch for a dress that will be handed down. And if you decide not to keep the dress, the label can be removed, and kept as a memento of the gown-perhaps to be placed in your wedding scrapbook, next to a picture of the dress.

Whatever you choose to have stitched on the label, it is a wonderful way to make “The Dress” truly your own.
