The Fall 2011 collection is Inspired by the prairie lands where I grew up. Days spent walking along flax fields, evenings spent burning chaff with my grandpa and dad. Burning fields, golden wheat, clusters of flax buds, endless blue skies and starry nights.
For this collection I had the pleasure of collaborating with my friend/Montreal artist Jen Storey. After discussing the history of the burning fields/prairie life Jen created 4 original paintings which were then digitally printed on silk and used to create 2 dresses, a decorative trim used on a blouse and THIS lovely collar. The collar is made of digitally printed 100% silk on the outside and unbleached lightweight linen on the underside and is fully fused for the perfect stiffness. The band of the collar is a smooth grey leather, and the collar closes at the front with a silver tone snap.
The circumference of the neck band is 15" / 38cm
