The bottom is stamped with a crown inside a crest shape, with the letters SMSP and Silver on Copper. I haven't been able to trace this mark, but it is similar to some marks from Sheffield, England, and indeed above the crest there is a very faint, worn away word that might be Sheffield (though I'm not positive).
The teapot is in good condition. I haven't polished it, since it has such a lovely patina, but it should polish up nicely. There are some scratches and a few spots where the plating has worn. The handle is not attached at the base of the pot, but it's still secure and pours nicely. The hinge is in good condition. There's a small dent on the lid.
This piece would be fun to use as a vase or for decoration, but it's also a lovely serving piece.
