Completed in 1972, Sutro Tower is located atop Mount Sutro. overlooking San Francisco. At 977 feet, it is the tallest structure in the Bay Area. The three-pronged tower is recognizable from many neighborhoods, and is a familiar icon to many San Franciscans. A broadcast tower for TV and radio, it also connects us to the sky and the world above the clouds!

The model is lasercut from Birch plywood at TechShop in San Francisco. The lasercut parts are designed from engineering drawings and photos. Parts and instructions (and even glue dots!) are packaged in a clear sleeve. Assembled, it is 20" tall, at scale 1"=50'.
