Roadside Pottery - Swirl Painted Vase - Vintage 30s

Rumor has it that you used to be able to make these pretty little take-alongs at the county fair or at roadside stands! You could pay a small fee, pick out the bauble you liked the best and lower it into a vat with pigments and paint floating on the surface of the water. Most people recognize this wonderful effect from Nemadji pottery - this is not a Nemadji piece - but very much like it, with swirls of green, red and yellow.

This cute little vase measures just 3 1/4" tall and would look quite nice with a single blossom or small posy on a windowsill. It is in excellent vintage condition.
