I believe in the power of essential oils to effect our psychological and physical well-being. There are hundreds of uses out there, and I have had only very basic experience with the power these oils contain. Personally, I have used Lavender for stress relief, Eucalyptus for sore throat and cold symptoms, and Jasmine for insomnia. There are hundreds of essential oils available, and many ways in which to best use them. I would recommend to only purchase the pure oil, without any additives. This is the only way to fully experience any positive outcomes from using essential oils. There is much information available on the internet regarding aromatherapy, and many books that will go more in depth as well. I begun by etching a very rustic cross onto copper, then doming and forming it along with a backing to form a hollow pillow. Pierced with holes on the front side for the scent to come through, and on the back is an opening large enough to place a piece of fabric with a few drops of your favorite essential oil or fragrance. It can also be used to hold a small note or a keepsake. The back bears my stamped makers mark. The oxidized chunky **sterling silver plated chain is chunky and impressive at 36" long! Long enough to slip easily over your head, but a clasp has been included in case you should ever want to wear it shorter. Depending on the strength of the scent you have chosen to wear on a particular day, you may want it further from your head and can wear the necklace long, or you may clasp it farther up the chain and wear it close to your head.
The meaning of the cross is very simple, faith.
The pendant was oxidized for color and effect, given some "battle scars", then treated with a polished wax protectant finish to preserve the rich color for years to come. Over time, the patina will deepen and become even more beautiful, especially with the addition of essential oils. It is intended to look slightly aged and worn from the beginning, I've created it so it has that timeless look.

**A quick note about sterling silver plate.
Due to the rising costs of silver, it has become hard to keep my prices affordable to my loyal, as well as to new customers. I love the look of oxidized sterling silver, and in this case have chosen to use a sterling silver plated chain for the necklace. It helps keep the cost down by about $15-$20.00, and should still last a very very long time. If the surface of the silver plating does become nicked, there is nickel silver underneath so there will be no major color difference, as in silver plated copper or brass. If you are interested in a solid silver chain, please convo me prior to purchase and I will be more than happy to accommodate!
