The third painting in the Setting Sail series, a narrative about a woman who sets out to sea using a canvas for a sail. The sea voyage is used as a metaphor for an inner, artistic journey. On the surface this appears to be a calm, beautiful sunset, with the woman in the distance. She's come a long way, and all seems well.

But read between the lines for a second meaning. She is dwarfed by the wide sea, with night coming on. The sunset is beautiful, but the gathering clouds foretell storms ahead.

This is a one-of-a-kind original painting, not a copy, print, or photograph. It comes with a certificate of authenticity. The 3rd and 4th photos should give you an idea of its relative size- I am 5' 1."
