This mini collection of fleur de lis and New Orleans inspired jewelry was a spontaneous addition. It also marks the official release of metal gilding, which I am so excited to add into my work!
An embossed spiral fern pendant of fine silver was gilded with African bronze to add a hint of olivine green-gold to the cool silver. Hammered fine silver wire bails connect pendant to chain, and allow luxe gemstone accents of vessonite and pyrite to hang beneath. This is a weighty pendant, thick with pure fine silver.
The textured and antiqued sterling silver chain measures 18.5" and closes with a hand forged darkened sterling silver hook clasp. Faceted vesuvianite garnet and smooth olive green Czech glass pearls adorn the chain. The pendant is just over 1.75" high including the bails and gemstone drop.
Metal clay work is a very involved handmade process which results in distinct and one-of-a-kind creations. Small variations and imperfections are part of the beauty and charm of this medium, and it can produce some stunning results. Once fired, silver metal clay becomes .999 pure fine silver.
