1) This is just a beautiful piece and a lot of work went into it: from, rolling several strips of paper into a big saucer shaped button (1 1/2 inches in diameter), coating it with varnish to make it water resistant, I crocheted wire around it to hang it as a pendant, weaving beaded silk cord to display the beautiful piece.
2) The beaded cord is woven using the Japanese tradition of braiding called Kumihimo, it is finished off with a metal chain and lobster claw clasp. The necklace measures 18 inches in length.
