I have an obsession with vintage photographs. It makes my imagination go as to who they were, how they lived, etc. Kind of like reading a book in your mind, ha! I was lucky enough to run across several of these vintage tin types so I have created them into assemblage necklaces. They have a Neo Victorian, Steampunk feel to them.
Victor is framed by an altered vintage, pewter heart shaped brooch with a high floral relief motif that I have hand colored in pastel shades of rose pink and soft green. Victor is a vintage tintype photo of a handsome man (seldom seen in those days from what I have seen from photos!)! He sports a suit with a high collar and colorful striped wide ascot. He is framed with faux pearls in soft shades of white, cream, pink and soft green with a sprinkling of vintage glitter for a big of magic. The pendant ensemble measures 3" across x 2 1/2" high.
The necklace is created from a collaboration of several vintage elements. A gold toned chain intermixes with pastel beaded chain relics and soft faceted pink crystal beads. A vintage heart pendant dangles down. The neckchain measures 19". Steampunk meets shabby romantic chic in this piece!
Please note since many of these items are vintage, they have that wonderful aged and worn patina and are not meant to look brand new. I treasure their imperfections as part of their charm and history.
