This is an original pattern of my design for you to crochet a Mother Spirit and her adorable Child. These sweet little creatures care for nature - mine are Earth and Water Spirits - and the Mother nurtures her Child and teaches it how to look after the world. You can choose the type of Spirits you would like to make by using different yarns to create different creatures.
The pattern is quite straightforward and suitable for beginner/intermediate crocheters, and includes the information to make both sizes of Spirit. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow if you know the basic stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi. The pattern will be sent to you as a PDF file (you will need Adobe acrobat to open it) within 24 hours in most cases and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have as you are making it.
The pattern uses mohair-type yarn and double knitting (dk) weight yarn (US: light worsted).
To make the Mother Spirit, which will be between 6” and 8" tall, depending on yarn used, you will need:
Approx 50g mohair-type yarn.
Approx 15g double-knitting weight yarn.
1 pair 15mm safety eyes.
To make the Child Spirit, which will be between 5” and 6" tall, depending on yarn used, you will need:
Approx 35g mohair-type yarn.
Approx 10g double-knitting weight yarn.
1 pair 13.5mm safety eyes.
You will also need:
Stuffing.
Tapestry needle.
3.5mm hook (US E hook).
Wire pet brush (slicker) to fluff up the yarn.
