Ceramic Mexican Piggy Lantern
~Also makes a wonderful cone incense burner
Hand made Ceramic piggy lantern and incense burner. Beautiful turquoise blue color.
With its sleek design and stylish details, pig lovers are sure to make room to show off this cute piggy. This piggy makes a cute lantern for your favorite outdoor space, just take the lid off and add your favorite tea light candle or incense.
The top cutout is small to give a wonderful globe effect when lit with a candle, and though it is not wide enough for a hand to fit into, you simply light your tea light candle or cone incense with a long lighter and it is ready to enjoy.
To use as candle holder, do not use with the lid, set it a side. To use as an incense burner, after lit place the top on top and enjoy while the smoke releases it scent into the air through all the holes on the piggy lantern.
I have added assorted cut outs in a triangle design on all four sides of the piggy, as well as eye cut outs and cute snout cut outs, for the light to come through, although the nose holes are real tiny and for looks only.
7" long, 4" wide and a little over 5 7/8" tall including handle. Due to each piggy being hand cut, and made the dimensions of the cut out on top and hole designs may slightly differ.
I poured it using a vintage 60's mold, then used assorted tools to make the cut outs and hole design. Then fired it in the kiln to cone 04 to turn to bisque ware and then glazed it and fired again to make the glaze turn to glass.
I have several other ceramic pieces available, some hand molded from raw clay and some poured from vintage molds.
