Sophie is a modern slouchy hat with a hemmed edge, designed to fit 18 inch dolls like American Girl, with a head circumference of approx 12 1/4". The ridged stitch pattern gives it a textured slinky-like look that emphasizes the casual fit. Worked in the round with minimal finishing required.
The difficulty level of this pattern is: Easy - uses basic stitches and simple shaping and finishing.
What you will need in order to knit this pattern:
* 75 yards of sport weight yarn
* Double pointed needles in sizes US 4 (3.50mm) and US 5 (3.75mm) (or sizes needed to obtain gauge)
* A darning needle for weaving in ends
