Classic portrait of the screen's most glittering star - in a Warholian homage, rendered in turquoise ink by my homemade drawing machine, the slightly less glittering Polargraph!
This isn't really a print, but it's a drawing, drawn in one continuous line, from top-right to bottom-left, back and forth, by a pen suspended by string, have a look at www.polargraph.co.uk for the full low-down on how it works, and what everyone's saying about it.
It's a gorgeously detailed piece that looks good from a distance, and up close is just as fascinating - it's drawn in a series of subtly curved arcs, over the course of eight hours. It's a slow process, but it's a beautiful one.
This paper is 64x45cm (25x17.5 inches), but the image itself is only 43x36 (17x14 inches), so fits into the aperture of a 50x40 frame, or a 70x50 with a mat.
This is drawn with a turquoise graphic marker, retrofitted with a fine fibre tip. The solvent-based markers are very "bleedy", so leave this telltale bloom every time the tip pauses in between drawing each pixel. I will roll this with tissue and ship it in a sturdy cardboard mailer. It'll be a bit curled, but will flatten out if you leave it out for a bit.
