I loved my acrylic nails with their pornstarrific french manicure, but when the economy went belly up it became too expensive to keep them. I knew it would take a while for my natural nails to recover, but a year later, they were still peeling and splitting. I bought drug store kits that were supposed to be designed specifically for nails ruined by acrylics, but without results. I probably spent just as much money as I would have if I'd just kept the fake ones.
When I realized I couldn't even file my nails without them breaking and crumbling, I took matters in to my own hands and did a little research. I mixed my own formula based on my findings, tried it for a couple of weeks and now? My nails are strong, the peeling and splitting has stopped and they're finally growing.
My Shabby Nail Repair Oil comes in a .5oz/15ml bottle. My formula is Jojoba oil based, which is more readily absorbed into the skin than other oils. A tiny bit goes a long way.
Directions for use:
*Shake well.
*Apply to clean dry nails, using a cotton swab, once daily for 7 days. I usually use mine right after a nice hot shower.
*Allow the oil to be absorbed in to the nail, then massage in any excess.
*After a week, maintain your new fabulous, strong nails by reapplying 1-2 times a week.
Tattered Mare's Shabby Nail Repair Oil is carefully mixed and bottled in my little workshop caravan, tucked away in the beautiful North Carolina mountains. Great care is taken to ensure that only the highest quality oils are used before being stored in half ounce cobalt blue bottles, which protect the mixture from light.

Some users have reported success using Tattered Mare's Shabby Nail Repair Oil to treat blemishes, skin discolorations and random "Over 40" skin.. thingies. While I have not personally tested the oil for this purpose, they swear by it. I gave some to my aunt who, after years of mowing lawns for a living, had hands covered with tiny mole-ish sun spots. She's been using my repair oil for several weeks now and reports that her spots are fading fast, some are even gone completely.
