This is an antique gold-filled Elgin pocket watch from 1888 that is in good vintage condition with the exception of the crystal which is cracked. Now the good news. The pocket watch works and there's a second hand. We purchased this beauty in the 70s from Iowa. The case is etched with flowers, leaves and a flying bird. The edges are fancy. Inside the cover it says Dueber 1254958. The latch and lift work well and the dial is in good condition. The hands are very fine. There is also an inscription on the inside which says M.A. Cloud from M.C & J. Cloud 1888. There has been something scratched off inside the cover and we always wanted to know what someone scratched off, the karat gold?
