This melancholy essay about winter had been achieved through simple and graphic means. White Kusakabe watercolor monoprints of persimmon leaves have been printed on natural mud washi by Jionji Press - a papermaking workshop in Ogosemachi, Saitama Prefecture that grows its own koso mulberry for washi making. The paper has a rich and beautiful texture and is truly unique. This is a beautiful and simple print.
