These beads have a base of black, which has a metallic sheen in places. Thin shards of reactive glass wrap around the beads, and have been subjected to different types of flame, to produce different effects. These range from shiny metallic, to matt oil-slick blues and purples
Named 'Voyager' in honour of Voyager2, which was launched 34 years ago to the day that these were made, and is currently travelling 13 light years from Earth.
They measure approximately 13mm in diameter and were made on a 1.6mm mandrel.
All the beads I sell have been annealed in a computerised kiln for durability and cleaned of all bead release.
These beads have been made by me in my home studio using a torch and soda lime glass.
My beads are durable, but please remember that they are made of glass, so treat them carefully.
