If you want to pick from a listing where you know exactly what they are going to look like, you might want to take a look at my ready to go shard section:
Want these finished as earrings as shown on Claudia in the third photo?
Here is that listing:
*you can either pick your shard color from the list above, or pick out a specific shard listing from the shard section and send me that URL.*
These clay twirls start out as small clay balls that I roll in-between two wooden textured blocks. You can see a tutorial on my blog on the actual process:
Because I will glaze these custom for you, these might have a longer lead time (usually done within 2 weeks) because I need to have enough stock to load and fire a glaze kiln. Sometimes I glaze extras and have them available, but I usually try to list those in my shop as a What You See Is What You Get listing. Also, the shape and size of your shard will vary slightly because I do make these by hand, and every one of them is unique. On average these are 1-1/4" to 1-1/2" long. I can make them shorter or longer if you want. That lead time will be 2-4 weeks minimum.
My porcelain and chocolate clay is fired to 2232F so it makes for a more durable product. Now mind you I did not say indestructible... They can break, so be "smart" when creating with them. Treat them as you would if they were a glass bead (a glaze is glass by the way). I use soft or dead soft wire when wire wrapping them.
