This American thrush (genus Sialia) is a beloved symbol of happiness, prosperity, and even new births. The mountain bluebird is almost completely blue, but the more common eastern and western birds have red breasts. Many of the Native American people had rituals and mythologies about the bluebird. In fact, the Navaho associate the bird with sunrise and the great spirit made manifest. This yarn has the vibrant colors of the bluebird , with some reddish maroon you would find on the bird’s breast.

This listing is for one 2-ply skein, with a total weight of 4.6 oz., spun at an average of 1180 ypp (yards per pound), nearly dk. The total yardage for the skein is approximately 340 yards.
