The challenge I set myself for this print was to create a variety of different and lively cut marks on the tiny bit of wood. This engraving was carved out of an expensive and highly polished piece of Lemon Wood. The block of wood is only a couple of inches big. I had to print it very careful so not to crush it in my ¾ tonne, 170 year old Albion press. I printed it in a very dark brown, which reads as a warm black on the soft white paper. I use oil based relief ink printed on 200gram Zerkall 100% cotton paper.
I like to keep practiced at a wide range of printmaking processes because I to teach general printmaking classes where any of the students can get engaged in any form of printmaking at any time. It is also my job to help other artists to achieve their printmaking aims. Besides – I just love printmaking......

I like to use top quality paper. I will therefore only ship my prints flat and protected with card - never rolled.
