This gorgeous antique frame (dating from 1933) has found new life as a unique and one-of-a-kind bulletin board. I've painted it in an antique white and then lightly weathered the paint to bring out the moulding detail. Three sides of the frame are in excellent condition, but the bottom of the frame has lost a good deal of the plaster work. Placing that side on the bottom and weathering the finish has camouflaged this loss of gesso pretty effectively (see closeup).
The frame measures an impressive 24-1/2" wide x 28-1/2" high. The ornate moulding is 4-1/2" in width. The frame is filled to the brim with a nice variety of used wine corks. Each cork was selected for condition and fit and then firmly glued to a light, rigid backing. The wine corks are so pretty with their intricate graphics and red wine stains. Note how well they fit the frame with minimal cuts and gaps.
The back is finished in my "custom frame shop" style using recycled paper, eye screws, picture wire and comes ready to hang. I've even installed rubber bumpers to protect your walls.
I'm including 6 of my signature push pins (recycled from antique buttons) that were designed to complement the frame. Extra deep, they'll hold paper but also can be used as little moveable hooks, so many items can hang from them; your glasses, keys, scissors, hot pads, rubber bands, measuring tape, anything with a little loop.
This piece is one-of-a-kind and all the major components are recycled. That means you'll also purchase 100% bragging rights to supporting a green lifestyle!
