Camisole Tank Top OOAK. I have a collection of vintage clothing pieces and this crochet, dogwood pattern yoke was among them. Trimmed in pink, I knew what would compliment this piece perfectly. Many years ago I rescued a beautiful piece of linen from a thrift shop. I cut this piece of linen in a specific way so that I could get a different pattern on the front then what is on the back. I designed my own pattern to fit the yoke and to set it off perfectly. I also added some elastic under the arm hole so that it doesn't gape open.
I added vintage lace to the bottom front edge of this camisole. On the back I opened up the middle and placed three decorative strips with a touch of the lace from the front. The shoulder has three buttons so that you can unbutton and slip it over your head much easier.
Finally I added the detail in the front center. A complimentary piece of solid linen that I hand embroidered echoing the pattern from the pink linen onto this piece.
There is a lot of detail to this camisole....it is a beautiful top and very feminine. It would look great with a pair of jeans or linen pants. After doing some research it appears that this yoke would have been made in the early 1900s. There were many crochet pattern books from that era so that ladies could crochet the yokes for their nightgowns and dresses.
This is a one of a kind top, since I don't have any more of the crocheted yokes.
Fits up to a 36" bust. Measurement from shoulder seam to bottom of blouse is 22".
