This photogravure print is taken from a disbound copy of the 'Book of Beauty', published in 1926.
Various 'Society' Ladies were photographed by Cecil using the technique of photogravure, sometimes known as copperplate. This had a popular revival in the 20's because of the soft, artistic quality of the images. Each print is tipped-on to a heavy page which is decorated with a border in sepia and numbered. Whilst the page has text on the reverse, the print itself is plain.
Internal printed area varies slightly from print to print but the decorative border on the backing page is just over 20 x 14 cm.
Your print will be placed inside a polythene bag, packed securely in a cardboard-backed envelope with extra card/paper, and posted via airmail if overseas. All prints, whether antique, vintage or modern should be protected from exposure to direct sunlight.
