This bowl was so much fun to create! I started by blowing up a balloon then wrapping it in layers of this beautiful merino wool roving. After gently wet felting by massaging the wool in hot, soapy water, rinsing thoroughly and letting dry, I had the prettiest wool ball you can imagine. I could not leave it in a ball shape, as my final outcome was supposed to be a bowl, so I popped the balloon and carefully pulled the broken balloon out of the middle. I was then able to collapse the bowl into itself. From there, I gave it another wet felting session, dried it again and finished it with some needle felting.
This bowl measures 8 inches across and is 3 inches high. It would make a great splash of fall color where you need it most. Use it to hold the little, important things in your life or consider it as a unique gift for someone special.
