UNIQUE and HANDMADE
I made the project of this doll trying to connect two different styles:
Polish folk and Japanese manggha.
Five of them (last picture) just returned from Hangzhou in China where have been exposed on the Polish stand during the World Leisure Expo 2011.
In my work I combine the traditional old technique of needlepoint with a freshness of modern design.
Realization of my each project involves laborious, patient and precise covering by hand of canvas with stitches and takes many hours to complete just a few square inches.
As every of my works is handmade, it makes it absolutely unique and one of the kind.
To obtain the front pattern of the art doll you can see on the photo I have to embroider on the cotton canvas 6 388 stitches by hand.
So please take into the consideration that to finish this art doll I need up to 12 days.
I used the dark grey felt for the back.
Front and back are sewed by hand.
Doll is filled by springy fibre.
