A STATEMENT piece; organic and asymmetrical, light blues and yellows, reminiscent of Greek goddesses and the soft jewel-tones of the 1920's. Eleven hand-forged swirls of hammered sterling silver wire are wrapped with finer sterling silver wire to a crescent-shaped sterling silver "frame" and hung from a substantial, large-link sterling silver chain. Wrapped within its graceful swirls are three glowing blue-green faceted chalcedonies and a sprinkling of pale blue, clear, and yellow Czech glass beads. I also made a kind of interesting, clover-shaped clasp, with a glimmering pale blue Czech glass oval tied to it, that can hook onto the chain from both sides. I made it like this because this can be worn as a short or long necklace, and I wanted the clasp to be able to be generally in the center either way.
I loved designing and making this necklace! The main "bib" section is 3 inches high from its highest to lowest point, and 5 1/2 inches wide at the tip. At its longest, this piece is measures 28 inches down the chain, around the bottom of the bib piece, and back up again the other side.
