I was told... that it was completely handmade... probably in the 1930s.
And judging by the colors... I think the 30s sounds right.
Being from Ohio.. it is quite possibly an Amish made quilt. The handiwork is superb!
I've been trying to find out what this pattern is... but I can't seem to find it. Perhaps the maker made this one up themselves? It reminds me of an apple blossom.
Each square features an 8 petal flower... darker pink towards the center... and pale pink on the outer edge. The green is a light sage color.
Each white square is approx 16 x 16 inches... and has a border of pink.
There are 12 of these squares in all... and the background is cream.
The entire back is also cream.
The Quilt measures a stunning 84 x 95 inches! More than overlapping my queen sized bed in the photos.
This quilt is in perfect shape. No rips, holes, tears, stains, yucky smells... not even a pulled thread. I have never used it... it has been safely stored in my wardrobe for over 20yrs.
Very soft... extremely well crafted... and just like Grandma would've (and perhaps did) made.
