This hand fabricated mixed metal ring features five orbs that I created by melting 14k gold into molten balls. I slightly flattened the balls to give them a more organic shape and soldered them to a sterling background, cutting a nice contour around the gold pebbles and soldering the assembly to a sterling silver shank. I oxidized the silver for contrast and gave the ring a brushed finish.
The ring is a one of a kind piece and is just a bit smaller than US size 8.
Last year I participated in a Ring A Week challenge, for which I designed and created one new ring each week. This particular piece is my Ring No. 23 in this challenge. You can see photos of my other challenge rings on my blog: http://lisahopkinsdesign.blogspot.com
