Each bead is hand made by me from painted Tyvek which I manipulate with heat to achieve the interesting shapes and textures. The colours are built up in many layers over as many as four or five stages to achieve the look I am after. The colours have a sheen to them that reflects the light and each and every bead is one of a kind. No two packets of beads are quite the same. You will receive these actual beads seen here in these photographs

I am a textile artist living in St. Ives, Cornwall. I love to work in mixed media with paint and stitch. I love to manipulate fabrics and plastics with heat to alter their appearance and create interesting textures. I use these pieces along with found objects from the beach and nature (shells, sea glass, pottery pieces, seaweed, feathers, leaves, seed heads and pressed flowers) which I mix with vintage photos and fabrics to create one of a kind pieces of textile art
