This vintage Zenith radio is a great piece to add mid-century charm to your home decor.
Awesome man cave accent!
This is the Zenith Royal 880 AM/FM portable radio. It was produced for only one year (1963) which makes it quite a collectible. It works great and operates with batteries. I love the woodgrain body (I believe it is some sort of particle board, not real wood). I love the mid century modern design. This piece measures about 9.5" x 6.5" x 4.5" not including the antenna.
Aesthetically, this guy is in good vintage condition. From my Internet research, I find he may be missing a handle on top and a leather looking outer case. Otherwise, the only major flaw in this radio is that the bottom has come unglued from the side on just one side. This will be easily remedied with a heavy duty glue. There is a little bit of discoloration here and there to the wood material and metal. There is a small silver ring in the tuner knob that is loose and moves around. (this is an aesthetic flaw that does not affect the function of the knob.) There are some other signs of normal wear, but overall this piece looks great!
This radio sounds great to me and all the knobs and the antenna seem to work fine. However, please keep in mind that I am not an expert and this item is being sold "as-is". I also cannot guarantee how long it will function since it is a vintage item.
