This large flower is approximately 4 1/4 inches wide, the clip is a little less than 2 inches. The clip also has a lovely velvet no-slip grip lining on the top metal prong. I've left the bottom free so it is easier to slip into the hair. Please see the last photo showing an example of the ribbon type and where it is applied--this flower clip shown is not the one available in the listing, it's just an example for you to see the actual clip part.
This clip is best used for toddlers, big girls, and even adults (I love to wear my daughter's clip!) ALSO, for infants, the clip is fabulous to just slip onto a crocheted (or similar type) headband--they look so CUTE on babies!!
