Zuri is a bead crochet rope created from thousands of tiny Japanese delica (cylinder) beads in a rainbow of opaque colors. Rather than make a rope in a single pattern, I chose to make Zuri, which means "beautiful" in Swahili, in one of my favorite techniques - bits of pattern intermingled with blends of every color used in the rope. These beads are tiny, but their diminutive size doesn't detract from their incredible beauty - their colors are bright and vivid and wonderful! This versatile rope is sure to become one of your favorite accessories, one you can wear with almost anything in your wardrobe.

The rope is crocheted from a custom-mixed blend of delica beads in more than fifteen colors: burgundy, red, royal blue, turquoise, robin's egg blue, yellow, pumpkin, orange, kelly green, forest green, lime green, violet, rose, purple, lavender, and hot pink. By my estimation, there are close to 6000 beads in this rope, all strung onto the thread and then crocheted into this beautiful piece of jewelry. The patterns are very random - you'll find stripes, spirals, checks, and sawtooth as well as sections of randomly mixed beads.

The ends are joined in an "invisible" join, so there's no clasp or closure. You can wrap it around your neck once, twice, or three times; or wrap it around your wrist six or seven times for a show-stopping bracelet.
