Moulded from jadeite or jadite, a light jade green opaline translucent milk glass.
Possibly made by the Portieux Vallerysthal glassworks, a French company well known to collectors of milk glass, who did produce occasional pieces in green, despite their white and blue items being the more commonly seen.
Both cups and saucers are moulded with an attractive ribbed design of concentric circles, and the cups have a stylish classically art deco solid curved and ribbed handle.
The cups only are marked with a moulded 'Made in France'.
The cups are 9 cm/3.5" across and 5 cm/2" high; the saucers are 13.5 cm/5.25" in diameter.
The set is in great condition with no damage; one saucer has a thin grey streak which is from the manufacturing process.
(A sixth cup and saucer are available, but the cup has some hairlines and the saucer a couple of fleabites - please ask if you are interested, no extra charge, but the weight tips the postage value over 2 kg.)
The set weighs 1400 gms, and I estimate the packaged weight would be around 1900 gms
