As with all of my designs, I created the textile motifs entirely by hand, using my signature lacemaking techniques and original patterns.
The focal point of the design is a graceful oval lace pendant. A subtly sparkling smoky quartz gem stone in the center is surrounded by a beaded frame created with 24k and 18k gold threads and the tiniest of crochet hooks. The frame has been embellished with a leaf motif and a mixture of 24k gold plated and bronze seed beads, as well as garnet and citrine stones, each embroidered by hand.
The necklace then branches out to two stylized vine motifs, reminiscent of the motifs found in ancient Greek decorative paintings. I crafted each individual leaf by hand using 18k gold foil threads and embroidered them with gold and bronze seed beads and vintage rhinestones. The leaves are hand-wired on 14k gold filled wire with a mixture of pearls, citrine and garnet stones.
The chain of the necklace is composed of dozens of hand wrapped links of flawless, iridescent sable colored freshwater pearls. The necklace fastens with a dramatic vermeil s-hook which may be hooked four different ways to adjust the length of the design.
