For centuries, ship's captains and explorers carried beads
to use as gifts or for trade in Africa and the Americas.
By the 1500s, glass beads were in such demand that the Bohemian community began to "mass produce" them out of drawn glass tubes imported from Venice.
This listing was most likely traded in Ethiopia, Africa.
This type is also called "pigeon egg" or "tomato bead" due
to their shape and/or color.
