We are so blessed here in New Mexico. Tonight we had one of those sunsets that just screamed “Beautiful”. Shafts of light beaming down, it was one of those ethereal moments that most times leaves an image on the old brain like mine and then is usually gone in a fleeting moment. For some reason tonight’s images inspired me to head into the studio and try to create some jewelry that would always remind me of that light. I think I feel a series coming on. I hope that it will work for you also.

I start with two sections of #10 half round wire that is about 1 ¾” long and fire up the torch to anneal the silver until it is nice and soft. Next it is forged into shape and then texture is added to bring out the reflective nature of material. Once I’m happy with the basic shape of the earrings, filing refines the shape. This also removes some of the forging marks and scratches. Next they are polished to a high reflective shine just for you.

Each pair of earrings will be hallmarked on the back with my mark, which is my initials MTT and with the word Sterling, to insure that you are receiving an item that is indeed Sterling Silver. The finished earrings are about 2” long and ¼” at the widest point.
