This sweet little cardigan will look adorable on your little baby or your cute big kid.
Knitted seamlessly from the top down, this design is particularly well-suited for kettle or hand dyed yarns.
The yoke is created with a simple purl ridge pattern, and then the body of the sweater is worked in a pretty Woven Basket pattern that is a lot of fun to knit!
This is an intermediate or advanced beginner pattern, you need to be able to increase, and work an unusual (but fun!) stitch pattern.

o I recommend measuring the intended child before choosing a size, as sizes are just a guideline and all kids are different.
o Cardigan is worked in one piece, from the top down. The yoke is worked in the Purl Ridges pattern and the main body of the cardigan is worked in the Woven Basket pattern.
o The buttonholes are worked as you go, as well as the i-cord edging, which is worked down each side of the sweater. All increases are worked on the inside of the 3 i-cord edge sts. When working i-cord, take care to not pull sts too tight.
o When told to slip stitches, you will slip them p-wise with the yarn in the front of your work.
o I recommend you try the cardigan on intended recipient after you finish the yoke increases to check the fit. You may also wish to lightly block your sweater at this point, as the Purl Ridges patt does grow with washing. Add extra rows here if desired.
o You may experience some waviness in the yoke as you are knitting, this should even out with washing/blocking.
