This is a gorgeous piece. This piece has been a part of my childhood. Long ago, in the early 60's after my mother and father were married they started out to decorate their first apartment in New Jersey. My mother has always had a great sense of style and decor, and so, to compliment her Danish Modern furniture set she bought two authentic Murano Italy pieces. This is the only one left after so many years, but this was kept up in cupboard and safe from children or accidents.
I was lucky enough to inherit this piece and now am honored to share it here with you. It used to have a gold oval sticker on the bottom of the dish that said "Murano Italy" on it. I have done a lot of research on this piece and believe it was made in the 1950's, but since I know for sure that my mother bought it in '62 I put the year down as 1960's for when it was made.
It is thick, beautiful glass, hand blown, one of a kind (as the authentic pieces are). It is an Angel Fish Candy Dish. The colors catch the light in a breathtaking way as you can see from my photos. Even on an overcast day the colors are bright and inviting. The piece is in amazing shape. (see photos).
