GENERAL DIRECTIONS FOR APPLYING VINYL LETTERING Your vinyl lettering comes with application tape applied on the top of the lettering or design1- Clean the area where the lettering will be applied to make sure that it is free from any dirt or dust that will prevent the vinyl from sticking. 2- Use a ruler and pencil to mark a guide line for the top and sides of your quote. Make sure you measure from the vinyl lettering and not the paper it is adhered to, to get an accurate line. 3- Place the lettering FACE UP on a table. Gently but firmly, rub the LETTERING with a popsicle stick or credit card. This will help the lettering adhere to the transfer tape. 4- Next, turn your lettering FACE DOWN on the table. Peel back the heavy, waxy, backing paper, slowly; making sure that the vinyl lettering is sticking to the transfer tape and not the backing. If part of a letter does not stick to the transfer tape, simply rub that area a little more firmly and check again. 5- Line up your lettering with your guidelines and center marks. BE CAREFUL, THIS CAN BE TRICKY WITH LARGER LETTERING. You may want to have someone help with this step. 6- Carefully rub your hand over the vinyl lettering to apply. Continue rubbing more firmly with the popsicle stick or credit card you used before. This allows each part of the vinyl lettering to adhere to the surface of the wall. 7- Carefully remove the application tape from the vinyl lettering, paying attention to any part of the letters that may not transfer to the wall. If this happens, simply rub that area a little more firmly and try again. 8- Rub your finger over the vinyl lettering, as if you are tracing the letters, to make sure that the vinyl is securely applied.
