I LUV this Eiffel Tower digital scan! That being said, in the interest of full disclosure, I feel I must tell you that the French script is a wee bit of a bummer. As you see in the second photo, the full view scan, the message started on the back continues on the front with the words "Le terrible malheur...." -- The terrible misfortune... From what I can deduce, something bad is about to happen in dear Blanche's life and the sender is commiserating, saying that the poor woman has already been sufficiently tested without this new pain added on top of the others. "It's really sad and we share their pain well," she writes. The sender's mother particularly was fond of Blanche, apparently for some kindnesses she had shown to their grandmother. If the sad message ruins the image for you, I understand. You could crop off that first foreboding line "terrible malheur"....As for myself, even after wrestling with the translation, every time I look at the postcard scan, I just see the beautiful rhythm of the French script against the blue-green cloudy sky, hugging the Eiffel Tower! The red postage stamp, the not one but two circular postal cancellations and the little black bar of text down in the Seine river -- it all comes together for a unique natural collage! I cleaned up some ink stains underneath the Eiffel Tower. Otherwise, this image is authentically antique and shabbily chic. I've cut around the borders so it will print exactly as you see it with the time-worn, rounded creased corners.
