On one of the biggest days of your life (the arrival of your bundle of joy), do you know where that faded gown the hospital is going to provide you has been? More than likely, in the operating room or someplace worse!
As the wife of an ICU nurse and having worked in the medical field for six years, I knew I didn't want to wear a gown that someone else had bled or vomited all over on such an important (and picture heavy) day. So in 2009 I created a gown to wear for the birth of my first son and have since then fine tuned the design. Here’s the result of three years of research and development.
The gown available is the Hudson gown, named after the son of a Moxie Mom that wore this pattern for her delivery. If you want to name a gown, purchase another design without a name and pass on a legacy!
**PLEASE NOTE** This fabric has been discontinued. The number off to the right is all there is left! If you love this gown, purchase it or it might sell out (it's Mommy Moxie's all-time best seller).
We love custom orders! Check out our website (mommymoxie dot com) for more fabric options and convo us with your choice-we'll set up a special listing for you in your size, no problem!
Some of the unique features of a Mommy Moxie gown include:
** Doctor/Midwife/NP/ Anesthesiologist/Nurse approved (and in some cases, OR approved for those having c-sections, but check with your OB)
** Instead of just one layer of 100% cotton fabric, there are two for extra modesty. The inner lining is a coordinating color (as seen in the second picture) and the removable sash matches the lining.
** There is only one inner exposed seam for those moms out there with sensitive/itchy skin and all inner seams are professionally serged for extra stability.
** Also for those sensitive skinned moms, the snaps are not metal but a poly resin (heavy duty plastic) to prevent allergic reactions. These snaps are applied with a professional snap setter to ensure they hold when you’re in a hurry and tugging to feed your little one.
** Mommy Moxie gowns unsnap along the top of the sleeves, making breast feeding and skin-to-skin contact easy and convenient
** Our gowns also snap down the entire back and provide ample fabric coverage to ensure you’re not showing the rest of the world what’s underneath your gown! Every anesthesiologist I’ve worked with over the past two years has loved how easy it is to administer an epidural in these gowns.
** Also available is a personalized receiving blanket and burp cloth that matches your gown (see the shop for the additional listing). The blanket is the same size (36”x32”) as the boring blanket the staff will wrap your little one in after they are born. How fun to have a picture of your new family with you in your gown and your little one wrapped in a coordinating blanket with their name for all to see!
